My brother and sister have just told me something which bothered me. I found out how close we were from becoming part of the statistic brought about by typhoon Ondoy.
The flood water had already reached the street next to us and houses there were submerged up to the roof. And we were supposed to be next...
So this is what panic feels like.

Lately, taking the shuttle (commuter van) to work has been like taking part in a Safari tour. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE (well, save for the driver of course), is looking out the window on either side of the vehicle.
Imagine fat tourists with their crappy SLR's, camouflage-print shorts, and jungle-inspired tops peering out at the great wilds of Africa.
Only, we were looking at the latest artworks of mother nature. Giant trees uprooted, cars on top of each other or overturned, houses buried in mud, and people trying to save whatever is left of their lives.
Truly nothing beats the experience of seeing things for yourself. Try it. All it takes is 50 pesos.
Bring your cameras.

Picture this.
Janitor in a big cruise ship. Everything's fine and dandy when suddenly, a storm hits. The cabins are all wet and it's your job to mop it all up.
You're the janitor.
The cruise ship is the Titanic.
Would you still mop?
